The modular approach and offsite construction of Prefabricated Utility Cupboards (PUCs) should bring benefits of scale, cost and ease of fit to construction projects. However, traditional installation methods mean that the very standardisation they promise is not achieved. The cumbersome nature of PUCs today often means they need to be brought on-site early risking damage as other trades work around them.
